Become A Space Educator: NEW Online Course

Updated: Mar 21, 2023

Today's second graders will graduate into a world where multiple nations have a permanent presence on the Moon, humans have landed on Mars, and there are several commercial space stations in operation. What are you doing to prepare your students for that reality?

Space Education is relevant across the curriculum... and any teacher (or parent) can become a space educator. A new online professional development course from ARES Learning and the nonprofit MarsU introduces multidisciplinary methods for helping students develop the skill sets and mindsets they'll need to be successful in the growing space economy - and in humanity's rapidly approaching multiplanet future. The course brings participants up to speed not only by providing a history of space exploration and an introduction to space science... but also by offering an overview of why space is important here on Earth, what's happening in the commercial space sector, and how philosophical issues (such as ethics, governance, and sustainability) will impact our shared future. Course materials include an academic book on space education, a full curriculum for students, and a curated collection of videos from guest speakers. Learn how you can inspire and empower students to be a part of an exciting future.
